Meals, Activities and Excursion
The ICMCS-XV is only a few days away! Here is some information on conference activities for in-person participants.
Zoom links for the hybrid conference will be distributed to all registered attendees shortly before the conference. If you are not feeling well or are otherwise unable to attend a particular session in-person, please join online instead.
Access to the venue can be through personal vehicle, ride-share (Uber or Lyft), city bus service, walking from closer hotels, or our provided shuttle service from the Hilton and Marriott hotels. More details on the shuttle service and other transportation options will be provided in a separate email.
A light continental breakfast with coffee and tea will be served each morning at the venue. Registration and breakfast begin at 8 am MDT on Monday, followed by opening remarks at 8:45 am MDT.
Coffee service will continue throughout the day during the breaks. A cafe is also located at the venue for espresso drinks at the attendees own expense. A buffet style lunch will be provided each day at the venue.
An opening cocktail reception will be held at the venue following the end of the first day’s presentations. Shuttle service will be provided back to the Hilton and Marriott hotels following the reception.
The ICMCS-XV banquet will be held at Rodizio Grill in Old Town Fort Collins. Shuttles will also be provided. Rodizio has an excellent salad bar with many vegetarian options, and a wide variety of grilled meats cut directly at your table by gauchos.
Wednesday night is a free night for you to explore beautiful Fort Collins and our restaurants, breweries, and other shops.
The excursion to Rocky Mountain National Park will take place on Thursday afternoon. We will take a final head count of excursion attendees during the opening registration.
As you are packing your luggage for the trip, we advise that RMNP weather can be cold and unpredictable. There will still be snow and ice on the ground in many areas. We advise bringing warm clothing, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes. Dressing in layers is best since the temperature can change quickly.
We will take a bus from the venue to RMNP after the end of the ICMCS program. A build-your-own sandwich bar will be provided along with to-go boxes. To maximize the time on the excursion, we ask that you eat quickly or bring your lunch with you and eat during the ~1 hour drive to the park.
The exact itinerary will depend on the weather and road conditions. We intend to visit a few different areas of the park which are more accessible and easy to walk around with scenic views. We will also plan to stop at the Visitor’s Center for souvenirs. We will return to Fort Collins in the evening in time for dinner on your own.
We look forward to seeing you next week!
